The Scotsman Calendar has been Scotland’s premier calendar since it first appeared in 1932. An original advertisement published in The Scotsman for the 1933 edition promotes it thus: “Framed in Oak (with hinged movable back), the Calendar, with a change of picture for each week, is a useful adornment in office, study or drawingroom. Price 5/- Post paid - Inland 5/6, Abroad 5/8.” Since this initial production three-quarters of a century ago, the calendar has evolved to the present day where soul-searching images, capturing the essential spirit of Scotland, aim to faithfully represent the diversity of Scotland’s landscape, history and heritage. In many ways, thanks to Scotland’s timeless landscape, The Scotsman Calendar really has not changed so dramatically through the ages. Traditional landscapes of sandy beaches, harbour fishing boats, rolling hillsides, magnificent mountains and dramatic coasts and lochs have always dominated throughout its distinguished 77 year long history. ![]() This best selling Scottish calendar continues to grow in popularity. 70,000 are sold through retail outlets; 30,000 bespoke calendars are sold direct to companies with their company logo and 15,000 are sold directly to customers either by post or online. Over half of the calendars posted from our offices go to addresses abroad. The appeal of The Scotsman Calendar is not just in the quality of its award-winning images. Clients appreciate the high standards of customer service and the reliability of delivery. The testimonials on this site gush with praise and some loyal customers have even faithfully kept each of their Scotsman Calendars since 1932, making for some wonderful collections. |
